NEW/NEWER MEMBERS

Post by morganman » Wed Jul 08, 2020 11:19 pm

So the last ew months i have noticed quite a few new members, or ones i have not seen
posting or answering here on VW2. Sure nice to see this as Morgan dollar collecting is truly
fantastic if one gets dedicated and learns to dollar cost average purchases over several yrs,
especially in yrs that are much cheaper than when the vam craze was happening. Way crazy
high prices.

I recently couldnt help myself and bought a few stellar morgans /vams in high grade & dmpl
for about 30% of prior list prices. Coins with say 3 to 6 Populations SSDC and O higher
Some were still a bit spendy but sure look cheap at less than wholesale not incl vam #

Anyway welcome newer to new members and remember to buy what you like, over a
extended period of time, and dont be scared to sell a few once in a while for a profit,
as their is always another oppertunity around the corner.

So says the OWL of advice/ wisdom LOL LOL

Thanks for the advice. I have really learned a lot since joining VAMWORLD. As I had hoped, it has been a lot of fun searching for VAMs and trying to attribute coins I have had for a while as well as new ones.

I invited a few hundred people to join today during the ANA Webinar. I'm sure some will.

Looking for 'VAM MORGANS' can take up a lot of time and be costly but hey, great hobby, past time, especially with C-19 Pandemic. Everybody wants a great collectable 'VAM', so, just like everyone else out there, always looking.

Nice to see the fresh faces, welcome. Don't be afraid, we are here to help. Ask away. Thanks @messydesk, looked at the who's online numbers and they are much better. Thank you for what you do for our small segment of collecting.

Thanks, Even though it is great trying to Vam these coins, it is appreciated that there are the experienced members out there willing to help us beginners. "You" have helped me with a couple of difficult (for me) ones and I have a few more to go.
Is it just my inexperience or are the 1901-o, 1902-o and the 1921-p a bit more elusive to attribution?

I think there are more than those that are difficult to attribute, for me anyhow. That would be a good question for Messydesk. He attributes and photographs coins at VSS for a reasonable cost, and he runs this website

Welcome. Now I could be wrong but I would start by posting it here on the Discussion Forum. See what people think. Good luck.🐍

I try to name drop VAMworld and the SSDC in my eBay lot descriptions with the hopes that more collectors will find their way here and become both more informed and part of the social network. Never know who, buyers or browsers, might have done so.

Thank you for the welcome, I am new here as well, and kind of stumbled into the VAM's very recently. I am also newer to really collecting Morgan's, though I have had a couple over the years, they were just really nice silver coins at the time. Now I appreciate the beauty and quality of so many out there, I decided to try and build a collection, mostly looking for MS 64 and better. But I did learn my lesson on buying ungraded on the internet and jumping the gun on perceived VAM's without waiting to fully verify. I have learned a lot from the experienced members here and the information available in the index. I look forward to continuing this journey!
