It's a VAM 187. Middle ear is all wrong and HUGE doubled "R". The "P" is not even close for 160,164,165 or 166.

Here are 4 more pictures. The R in Pluribus IMHO is NOT doubled like on the 187.

That looks like the V188 obverse but I don't recall that the 187/166 reverse was used on the 188.

Definitely not the doubled "R" of the V187.

This also has the cut in the 1 of 1987, shown on VW pics, although hard to see on my picture. Please note the full O on reverse; the secondary gouges markers on the rim of eye, and the vertical gouges in the ribbon. The P doesn’t have the pushed up right side of base, but this may be an early stage 166 (166-A) ?

It is absolutely not a V166. Look at the middle of the ear.

I admit that I'm not a 78-P expert. But it seems to me that this is NOT the obverse or reverse of the VAM-166.

1. Obverse; the P is wrong, the R is wrong, and the lines at the ribbon on the bonnet are not there.
2. Reverse; It is my thought that the VAM-166 scratch at the eagle's toe is not "The scratch" but instead is a PMD strike. The angle of the scratch is wrong and at close up you can see what I am calling a strike follows up and deforms the eagle's toe.
