USPS strikes again!!!
I just had a package delivered by the USPS that was obviously broken into and repaired. This ends my on-line purchases.

To be fair- This is a rarer occurance. I have had ONE like this in 25 yrs so that isnt bad
The online purchasing IMHO is fantastic- discreet- peruse items better- seeing many more coins-
Shopping price points-less costly than traveling-less unhappy old men dealers to deal with, as i have
quite a temper when provoked. LOL
Sorry this happened, just part of the game

The postal service can be brutal at times, however, I have to say that several years of buying and selling coins I've not had any trouble except once when the idiot seller just stuck the Morgan in a white letter envelope which may have got lost in the machine that sorts envelopes. When I sell I always pad twice meaning I cut up used padded envelopes and tape the coin inside the pad and then it all goes into another full padded envelope. This disguises whatever is in the envelope. Seems to work. Sorry about your troubles but be sure to get your money back if it doesn't arrive.

So were the repackaged package contents missing as suspected?

Like messy says; I ship all coins using a bubble envelope & a coin SAFETY MAILER INSERT, that serves
to double protect contents/coin/coins 1st class insured
Anything $500 or above i use priority box insured(cheaper) and registered if expensive
Its USPS insured based on stated amt up to 25k
if a package is lost -sender must put in a claim and prove contents declared value

Re: USPS strikes again!!!
That stinks Dave.
Have shipped thousands of coins over the years.
Knock on wood only had to file two claims.
One time the buyer I'm sure received it but lied to get a refund from USPS.
Buyer messaged me wondering what a VAM was?
And why it was worth what he paid? Amazing!
Hope you get your refund.

Re: USPS strikes again!!!
After 9 and a half years only one coin went missing in the post. Poor packaging by the seller, an empty torn envelope and part of a plastic coin holder, I think somebody had a good VAM coin. Claimed off the seller because of poor packaging, got my money, disappointed not having the coin. It's a chance we take buying on line but 99% of the time, rewarding.
Re: USPS strikes again!!!
You are correct JB. The packing peanuts are intact but the coin is MIA....This is the second empty delivery for me and 3 additional coins just disappeared at different distribution hubs. Sorry for my rant.....

Ouch. I've heard the dallas metro hub has been, well, wonky, for lack of a better word. I wouldn't let this get you down though. You've just seemingly had a run of bad luck. I ship thousands of packages a year and have had very minimal problems and the problems I have had were usually things like the buyer sending me the wrong address.

i only ship prioirity mail signature required with private insurance and registered insured. I had one package stolen on the way back from Leroy that was first class insured, and another that was torn in half but contents were still there, and I couldn't begin to say how many packages I have shipped and reveived since 1988. thousands easily. sorry you lost again.
