Title says it all. I'll give any pictures you ask for except the date. Apologies, but I feel you might do the same....
Could this seriously be it?!...

The Top 100 or the Hot 50?...

(Joking...)
Why do you say that though? Perhaps i can learn from it. It has the D clash above the I/wheat and the cotton above the arrows... It has every tell-tale sign of it being there...

I dunno man... Every angle i look at it, it looks more and more like it might be something there... Size, placement, and orientation are all correct...

I say that because I don't see anything. There are coins with all the indications on it that an E could be present, but at the end of the day, there's nothing there. The term "Phantom E" was used back in the 90s by Terry Armstrong to describe some of these coins, and the term continued to be used later. Light E clashes are also very hard to photograph. Just recently, I was examining a coin that had a fully outlined profile clash all the way to the lower left wreath and a clashed ribbon and lower right wreath above the cap, but still no E, and I looked for a while.

Just giving an opinion............If looking at the clashes in your fullest reverse photo, especially those along the wreath. and comparing them to the clashes shown in a full coin photo of an 1889 o VAM 1A1
http://ec2-13-58-222-16.us-east-2.compu ... -O_VAM-1A1 you will see a very near match to your coin photo. Then compare where you are seeing an "E" on your coin to where the "E" is on the 1889 o and the note the location does not match. The edge of the "E" would be under the 2nd tailfeather starting at the left.... not the 3rd tailfeather

It's close but mine is angled/rotated slightly differently. Here is my N clash for comparison. Mine is on the bottom...

You asked for opinions.
So here's mine. FWIW

Nooo, still basketball season, but this coin does not make the sweet 16 or the elite 8. Not sure it was selected to be in the tournament. And baseball needs to drop about 20 games off their schedules and start in May.

I think I've heard of basketball. Don't they play that during Hockey season?
Still; three strikes, you're out.

Yokel, look at the neck line clash above the wing. It's a rotated G clash line which means that the E would be set more to the left under the 1st or 2nd left TF's if it transfered and not pushed way over to the right hugging the bow loop.
A good rule of thumb when dealing with weak phantom E's is to first check the exculpatory evidence I.E. stuff that would rule out an E clash.. With a rotation like that, the E wouldn't be next to the bow loop. I do see what you see, it's an "evil" phantom for sure, so you get a pass on this one but a phantom nonetheless..

What's Hockey Lee, is that some kind of new X-sport?

Hockey is when you think you are gonna score but Bob shuts you down cold, at least that's the way it goes around here. The Red Sox got their first win of the season with a pinch hit homer in the 9th last night.
...and yeah, there's no E on that coin and it looks like the G was a near miss.
You have piqued Juan's interest, so that's something. Maybe you should follow that up...

What I find interesting about this thread is how others have called the strikes.
Pretty much everyone has called strike one.
I believe that I am the only one that has called strike two and three on the swing and miss clash claims.
