New-Be Question-ANSWERED-Thanks!
I have a question that may be a new-be type, however I can't find an answer anywhere. I have bought a few Peace Dollar VAMs here that have a designation on the label that I don't understand. The current one has (JR-11) on it. Can someone tell me what this means? Thanks for your time. I hope it's not a sellers code..

Re: New-Be Question
PCGS, NGC or ANACS? Is it actually on label or on the surface of the slab plastic? What's the date/mint? @vampicker or @messydesk may be able to assist.

Re: New-Be Question
Since it's highly unlikely your Peace dollar was mistaken for a bust dime, I'm going to go with colwilly's guess. Post a picture and you'll get a better answer.

Re: New-Be Question
John Roberts, aka Vampicker, creates an annual list of VAMs that he thinks are notable and which he would buy given the opportunity. THe 1H was on his 2011 list (and I can see why, it is a neat VAM!) and is included in Dr. David Close's list of the Elite 30 Peace Dollar VAMs.

I swear, someday I will learn how to grade Peace Dollars!
Re: New-Be Question
Yeah, people have been using my initials and the year to denote VAMs from my annual lists. Each years' list is also an SSDC registry set and most years are attainable goals to complete although a few of my selections have been particularly challenging for the community as a whole.
A 'ponytail' is a piece worth having - but that really is the point of my list

Re: New-Be Question
John has done a great thing with his list for the years. There is only a hand full that has been completed and they are the Old timers who have been around for awhile. It would be a idea for the whole community to have and input on a series of coins they pick to have has a Set for collector's to complete. I know the acid set has been done recently but that was behind close doors. How about lets start with people who have coins that they think are hard to come by and propose to do a set? I mean just to see how it works??
