Leroy Worthy?
I recently bought a NGC XF45 1899 O VAM 5 for my broken mintmark set. It is in a Gene Henry Legacy Collection holder. Really cool by the way. What surprised me was the break that extends through the mintmark and extends to the rim of the coin. It is a break for it is raised as shown in the photo.
It is my VOTW this week and I chose this 1899 O VAM 5.
Would this be worthy to send to Leroy for consideration of a new sub variety of VAM 5 or is this break too small?
Opinions welcomed.

I may not be the best, but I do not know anyone better.

Just a crack. Nothing that would get listed.

Does it have displacement ? Looks similar to the 78S V1D2 . That one is listed.
Re: Leroy Worthy?
If you see displacement then send it.

I don't see displacement there, but I don't have it in hand. If you have a package of 3 or more coins ready to go, throw it in. If its the only coin you have to send, I would wait until I had others. It's $5/per coin with a min of $15 (so if you are sending less than 3, you are still sending $15).
I swear, someday I will learn how to grade Peace Dollars!
Re: Leroy Worthy?
Field displacement is a bit of a "gray area" feature on a coin. Unless very dramatic, is very hard to discern on worn specimens, as sudden changes in luster are usually the best indicators. In order to list a coin, Leroy has to not only see a particular feature, but also be able to photograph it such that others will be able to tell what they're looking for. I can pretty much guarantee that this coin will not result in a new listing.

Re: Leroy Worthy?
THANKS for all the opinions.
From the mintmark to the rim, the crack or break is a raised area. Not sure if that would be considered "displacement". It is very hard to take pic of it but when I look through my loop, it shows up well. If others have this VAM, it would be great to see if this crack/break gets any bigger.
I'll probably put it in my "maybe" pile to send to Mr. Van Allen.
