anybody have a ballpark figure on vam 5 in au53 and a ms62 vam 17, someone made a offer to trade both of those for my ms61pl vam 15

VAM 17 is very common... no premium.
VAM 5 in AU53 is hard to pin down, especially lately. Depends upon raw vs. which TPG. Here are some prices I have in my database (and I feel horrible for the person who bought at the coin show):
