1921 vam-44 Morgan

Post by jlojek00 » Mon Jun 26, 2023 9:33 pm

I recently purchased a 1921 vam-44 Morgan in NGC MS61. I am unable to find population and pricing. Does anybody know?

VAM 44 is an exceedingly scarce coin that is very, very seldom even offered for sale.

I'm going to guess that your coin is the one APMEX sold in March 2022, and was later sold again on eBay in March 2023, for $1,657? Those are the only MS61 sales I have record of since I started tracking VAM sales in 2005.

The total population of VAM 44s in all grades registered at SSDC is 6, which is the closest I can come to guessing how many exist. My AU58 one of those six, I'm thrilled to own it, and it is the last coin in my 1921-P set that I would want to try to replace.
When in doubt... don't.

I sure got a good deal. I purchased this coin plus 2 other mint state common wide reeding 1921 pieces for $140 plus the juice.

Joe:

Let me be the first to welcome you to the special VAMworld club of "You Suck!". (It's the highest level of praise/envy/jealousy/admiration for a VAMer who has made a super-sweet cherrypick.)
When in doubt... don't.

I really hope to have a true 44.
There are three VAMs with the 44 reverse.
Some see the reverse “44” die marker and call it a 44.
Best wishes.
44 really does earn you a You Suck.
Congratulations

The attribution is on the holder. I also checked it with the vamworld pix. It is a true vam-44 including the wide reeding.

Very glad you have the true wide read VAM-44.

FYI; NGC doesn’t have the best attribution record or reputation around VW.

I have contacted both Heritage and Great Collections at times and reported attribution errors from both PCGS and NGC that were pulled for correction.

I’m sorry if I sidetracked your post.
I am very happy for you.
I repeat, YOU SUCK!
