What is the value of an 1878s dollar VAM 27A?

Post by VAMGUY62 » Sun Oct 11, 2020 5:07 pm

I have an 1878s long nock dollar VAM 27A. Would anyone have an approximate idea of its value? A coin dealer thought the coin has been cleaned and is VF condition so the coin could grade VF - details. I don't think I have yet posted this question but I already have I apologize.

Any questions about value belong on the BST page.

This is the What's It Worth? board. This is exactly where this thread belongs.

Demand for problem VAMs in general is poor. Problem raw VAM demand is worse. My WAG is something pretty minimal, like $25-$30.
When in doubt... don't.

lots of data on Ebay; folks do not want problem coins; I only buy IF I need to fill a hole / complete a set; otherwise I avoid.

lots of low grade long nocks at cheap prices.
