1987 p normal date?

Post by qwas » Fri Jul 26, 2019 3:58 pm

First would it be preferred if I stick to one post with all my queries or should I continue with a post for each date or variety? Anyway I believe this is a normal date but some of the marker as are not there or can't bee seen due to wear. I have posted the pics of interest individually because I wanted to comment on what I think I see.

This one shows the start of a small die crack I believe going from the 1 to the back of the neck line.

Last one- This shows a small die crack forming from the top of the wing and going to the denticles above the F. Do the coins have to show all details or can they just display some details to qualify as certain vams? I have been spending hours reading and examining these coins under a microscope trying to learn the nuances of this hobby.

Hi
First one is a well known documented
Very common Vam
It is a normal date,
It’s almost at the end of the (rainbow )
It’s clashed but no letter transfer
Or too weak to mention
The second one is another very common well
Known clashed far date 1887
Also very well documented,it comes clashed and unclashed (like the first)
It’s listed about the middle of the (rainbow ),
Yes keep only this thread going
Nice pictures by the way

Thank you. I looked at every date position and was sure I at least had that correct. Oh well I'll keep trying. Thankfully value is not what I am interested in here.

Can this be moved? For some reason it is posted in "what's it worth". I'm not interested in what my coins are worth. I am interested in learning so every question isn't what do I have. Thanks.
