1886 O vam 1a 1 clash versus 2/7

Post by JASONKFLO » Tue Dec 07, 2021 6:25 pm

I don’t know if this is the right spot but seems like it. I have 1886 O vam 1A with both 2 and 7 clashes in AU but I need a single clash and am wondering if they usually sell for more in mid AU . I don’t know if records are easy to check on this because they are usually listed as 1A, 1A1 or 1A2 most the 1A1 I have seen have 2 clashes I believe but online pics can be tough. So if anyone has a general idea please chime in. Dennis I don’t think you need to look up auctions unless you know of any that where listed as single clashed. Thanks again

I'm pretty sure the single clash is the hardest to get. Don't know about the value.

Yeah I think it is. I have seen plenty of the 2 and 7 but have not noticed the single except on a few high priced eBay auctions .

1886-O 1A are not often sold with the number of clashes stated. The 1-clash coins are seldom offered for sale; I haven't seen an auction or show offering for one in any grade in 10 years. Roughly speaking, I think you should expect a premium of 50-100%.
When in doubt... don't.
