Sharing a folder:

Post by Geseas » Sun Dec 27, 2020 6:19 pm

A great learning site here!

I would like to experiment with folder sharing. What does this look like to you? Please put your mask on before opening! Beyond the scope of this cowboy I am afraid...https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing

*looks like they want you to sign in/sign-up to Google Drive... looking at it from the vantage point of an old iPad...

IMO, this is a huge folder... It has a bunch of Raw, unedited photos; To be able to transmit from out here in the woods... just amazing. 30 min. upload...(all other devices shut down.) that was the hard part. :D

I am becoming convinced, " I see what I want to see on this machine, who knows what you see on yours."

The link is probably OK, but it says I need to request access to view it.

Thank you, John. How about this method? https://docs.google.com/document/d/1OIJ ... sp=sharing I wonder who you are supposed to request access from? Maybe I don't have some button turned on. I will keep trying...if OK. It may help your server room keep a little cooler, or not.

Still says I need to request access.

Under the sharing settings for the file, there should be a setting for "anyone who has link." Set this to "view" and it might work.

It worked for me if what I'm looking at is a 21P VAM-24

Thanks so much, hairfield1. I am trying to learn about this computer and VAM scribbles...Did you have to sign-in to something? Did they ask for your Email address? I sure appreciate the help! @messydesk had me push a few more buttons. I think it helped...In pursuit of Knowledge, I have pushed the 'Linux' button.

All I did was right click and picked open in new tab.
