The Most Textile I've ever seen...
Thought I'd share, not much for color but that textile coverage, wow! #AllTheNewsThatsFitToPrint!

It looks like she has a checkered past! Maybe it’s chickenpox. I have a 1885 with heavy textile print but no real colors. Imagine if this had some color with that much textile showing!
Re: The Most Textile I've ever seen...
I agree but it makes me a little suspicious. The bag would have to have been flat against the obverse for that consistency and I have never seen one that complete.

I dont see the amount of coverage being suspect. This could have been a coin at the very bottom of one of the bottom bags laying sideways and flat on the floor for decades with nothing between the concrete and coin aside the burlap. Right?

I have NO problem with this amount of coverage, I have seen them before, but usually with a lot more color.

Yeah, but if the color was good, or even a mediocre rainbow, I'm sure I wouldn't have been able to afford it.vamsterdam wrote: ↑Tue Dec 18, 2018 5:29 pmI have NO problem with this amount of coverage, I have seen them before, but usually with a lot more color.
At $20 over grade how could I say no to this one..

Looks "Baggy" to me...

Re: The Most Textile I've ever seen...
Looks baggy to me also, but if you notice all the textile lines seem to be very straight. Just looks a little too good to be true. But then again on a coin like this there would be little to no monetary gain to fake it, so it is probably genuine.

Not the best images, but here is an 1893 in AU53, ANACS VAM2 I have with textile toning. Not great color, but pretty amazing.

Wow. Very cool. Wonder if that one is bag textile or some other type of "textile" imprint though. The dots seem too large and hexagonal. Curious to see what others think..

Both looks very pretty!
Here is my 04o v35a. Kinda weird bag.

81 looks like typical U.S. mint bag textile - good coverage. The 93 looks like some other sort of textile....as best I can see.....

Re: The Most Textile I've ever seen...
now you guys got me really fired up. I need to figure out how to get my cameras back on line. I have an 1885 textile toner that I have to shoot. and then catch up my Leroy letters and pictures. bad timing with Christmas and all but I gotta figure out how to do it. it is not easy with my office vacated due to water damage and the computer and photography stuff in 3 locations.
