Lavere Redfield Morgan Collection

This am out in storage facility counting Morgans i
bought as kid/young man/ from Redfield at his Reno Nv
house. Total is just over 20,000 coins with almost 1/2 graded
but not attrib as redfield or vams. Self stickered as redfield
and some self vammed. Other 1/2 in flips with Redfield
stickered and date/approx self grade.
Doing this at time, i didnt believe his collection would
gain notority as it did, so no private labels on graded
examples. Many beauties as Lavere & i hand picked these
with many 1878 & 78 S and some high grade CC's.

I began sorting raw redfields and will grade 78'S & CC'S
The redfield means nothing, other than to me, as no
verification is possible. I will Redfield sticker em when back
from grading. Brings back fond memories of Reno visits
with my folks, for my dads gambling and Redfield visits

Absolutely! This is the kind of story other collectors and hobby publications love to have! Please write your thoughts and recollections, possibly including specific coins. Having had personal contact with Redfield, and bought coins direct from him opens a completely new perspective on his "hoard." Don't worry about how it's written -- just get the ideas and concepts on paper. (I'll be pleased to help you with editing, etc. if you wish.)

Get started right away --- as the memories flow in your mind about what happened and how it started, etc. Excellent material not only for hobby publications but for historical perspective.
