14.3 vs 14.12 8 tailfeather question

I want to keep this simple because I am just trying to figure something out on my own and am struggling , with the first little bit . I know I need to shoot pictures of radial die cracks and any other possible PUP's still , Coin is most likely just a 14.3 . I apologize if this same question has been asked a million times . I can see that they both have the little spike on the eyelid {1 is thinner I guess } . but do they both have dots ? And does the 14.12 have to have both dots ? Thank you in advance . I probably should have just ordered the book first , but figured you guys would know especially the guy that teaches the class on these .

The way to distinguish 8TFs, is to start with the reverse, left tail feather added. The 14.12 has the A1C reverse. Nothing at all like the 14.3. Second, look at the "Blob" above on the reverse, only on the A1Cs.

They aren't very good pictures , I had this coin on the first post of that silly price is right game . It says 14.3 on the segs holder, and i figured I better check it ... that scratch on the nose caught my eye and I got stuck is all . so what you are saying will help now that I know what to and not to look for , Thank you !
Some of this stuff is just a little confusing to me , and I really appreciate the input . I must have read something wrong or did not really comprehend it the first time trying on my own and needed a little advice .
