1904 O PCGSMS64DMPL VAM 28A 'TRIGGER'

Post by bhinkle » Sat Sep 23, 2023 2:42 am

Here are pictures of one of my most exciting finds awhile back.
My 1904 PCGSMS64DMPL VAM 28A 'TRIGGER'and housed in a like
new OGH to boot.
Here is one thing, that I noticed on the VAM 28A page pictures
and my coin,
On the reverse in IGWT and in the letters TRUST on the VAM page,
the top of the S looks filled and my S is not filled.
Would that make a difference?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Bert

Wow That is beautiful!!@bhinkle I do not know the answer about the die chip, other than yours is an earlier state before the chip occurred.
I have a raw trigger but it sure is not a DMPL! ( I wish it was tho lol)
They must have taken my marbles away

Great photos.
I just checked 9 examples and not one of them had a filled "s."

A common neat vam in a high grade holder, mighty beautiful
mirrored dmpl. Thanks for posting/sharing as i suspect not
many dmpl in this grade

I am always a sucker for flashy DMPL morgans

Take good care that great dog of yours!!!!

It is one that often can be found in 64 and 65 PL/DMPL. Had a little hoard at one time.

Another is the VAM-4B. They are usually, and appropriately, attributed now as VAM-4A. But that includes both pre- and post-clash states. The prooflikeness was from remediation polishing. It is one of those things that bothered me, though my interest in the issue has pretty much gone away. Not sure if Alan Scott went over it with Leroy later on.

THANK YOU EVERYONE.
I wish I could still find some of these nice vams now-a-days.
