Finding buyers who aren’t dealers….

Post by ChrisPaulis » Wed Sep 20, 2023 2:26 am

I’ve upgraded some of my CC Morgans and have been trying to sell some rather high-grade coins (that I’m replacing). This isn’t first time, but I’m struggling over finding collectors willing to pay at least between Greysheet and CPG. Today I had a guy approach me to hear what I have for sale, and he insisted on Greysheet value or lower. (The coins were an 1880-CC 8/ High 7 PCGS MS64 and an 1893-CC VAM-2 AU58. I offered to sell both for 5200, which is just 180 over grey for both. And he basically spit on the offer.

Now I know that I’m not the only collector who has paid more than Grey for great coins, so I wonder what the best avenue is to find them and make a reasonable amount. I am exhausted at the Greysheet mentality….

What’s the wisdom out there?

Send them to Ian at GC , coins over 1000 bucks have no sellers fees . You will have to wait for the money , cause they are a little backed up , but it is better than getting the same ole ,"Separate you from your money deal" the whole system is designed to do . Good luck !

I'll be a second voice in favor of GC, and point out that unlike Heritage they have no minimum submission.

Dealers buy the holder, collectors buy the coin. Post good photos of a pretty coin in the BST thread you might see results.
