1921 Morgan with Feeder Finger Die Gouges
Everyone, here I go again. I have a 1921 Morgan that has what looks like feeder finger die gouges (scratches) in a very different place then what is listed. Instead of these in the normal area of the ST and the OF areas, these are below the wing in the ED and AM are of the reverse. Can't seem to find these anywhere. Any Ideas?

Re: 1921 Morgan with Feeder Finger Die Gouges
Could you please confirm that it's a D2 / 16 berry?
There are a couple varieties that do have some feed finger activity in these areas, so another closeup somewhere else would help. Personally, I don't often look at the scribbles area because they flatten out so quickly as the die ages; I often look at the pattern of polishing gouges around the bow, as they tend to remain even in late die states.

Re: 1921 Morgan with Feeder Finger Die Gouges
These sort of gouges develop over time, so they're not always listed as part of a VAM description because they aren't inherent in the dies. What constitutes a gouge significant enough for separate LDS listing isn't entirely clear to me. There are a lot of examples of feed finger gouges over ED and AM separately; a few die pairs that I know that can have both are VAMs 3BN, 3BX, 3EA, 3EG, and 32. A few more close-up photos should help clarify things.

Thanks for the direction to look for this 1921 coin. You were correct, it is a VAM-3BX. Die breaks and scratches match up pretty darn colse. This maybe an EDS strike. The die breaks aren't as sharp or long enough to match the VAM photos but match exactly in location. Thanks for the help.
