Denver in October?!

Post by keilg1 » Mon Aug 21, 2023 3:01 pm

Putting a few details on a trip for me back to the US in Octobet and it might include a trip on the weekend to the https://www.rockymtnexpos.com/ I've seen advertised. I already see ANACS will be there, unexpectedly as it IS in their back yard, but who else will be around?!

Fogie and I will be there. We (Select Rarities) have been setting up at the Denver Expo somewhat regularly. If you are at the show, connect with us. Daniel Carr should be there too.

Anyone else heading to Denver? The snow might happen at higher elevations starting Wednesday (the early bird folks - including my dad and I will be there at 1:00!)...

Looking forward to seein Fogie and Alefzero -- and presumably JR?

Probably will pass on the Mint tour, as it just won't work with my schedule. But there's always Voodoo Doughnut.

Dealer List:

Outdated Bourse Map: (should be roughly the same)

If one does want to do a Mint tour while there:

I work offsite and won't be in Denver for this show. Maybe the next time the ANA has a show there. I've set foot in the home office three times since the move to Colorado - all during shows.

And Voodoo Doughnut is worth the walk from the convention center even if they don't have the habanero jelly doughnuts like the original location in Portland

Sadly, a no go for us today. Decided to take the old highway between Laramie and Cheyenne knowing we'd need to endure I25 South all the way to Denver ... and that traffic has become horrific.

A good decision as Happy Jack and The Devil's Playgound are amongst the most beautiful spots in southeastern Wyoming.

However there are a LOT of wildlife. Including the young buck and his 6 other (presumably) family members we met, unfortunately striking him (avoiding all the others, though) at about 55mph. Thankfully only the front headlight, quarter panel, hood, windshield and bumper will now need to be replaced. Not safe to drive into the city so we tucked our tails between our legs and headed home.

No coin show in store for us today or the next week as we get 'er repaired... Hope it is a good show for all who make/made it there!

Glad you and yours are Okay... Yearly migration time for deer out west , to bad it ruined your show . This is probably too soon and highly inappropriate given the circumstances , but hoping it cheers you up just the same . :D

Dad and I were discussing: What were the chances that this would happen to us today? Some might say 1 in a million or something like that but the real answer is 100%. It took both his and my lifetimes to get to that point today - so it's about time it happened. 8-) 8-) 8-)

Appreciate the humor UB!
