1878-S Help Needed
Am I the only one who struggles to attribute 1878-S Morgans? I've had this on my desk for months and keep coming back to it. I find new things each time, but I'm still stymied. I believe that the S is in the left position, and it has engraved wing and broken 4th right star, but I feel like I get buried in the long list every time I try to narrow it down, so help would be appreciated.

Figuring out if LIBERTY is doubled or not will lead to 1 of 2 potential lists (http://ec2-13-58-222-16.us-east-2.compu ... _Varieties). Suggest then marching through the engraved wing area guide pictures, comparing them with what you see in the ear, bow, hair d, etc.
I'll not stop you from enjoying the rush when you figure this out but I believe it's a farily clear one once you have the right pieces in place... as I think I've figured it out already!
Please post PUPs of what you think relevant so those of us 78S junkies can revel in your rush?

Re: 1878-S Help Needed
Don't look through the engraved wing areas lists.
This looks like a not engraved wing area.
