Your coin is NOT the vam 1i. I have 8 different die stages of the vam 1i and the crack from star to rim are not the same.
I spent over 2 years studying this date and mint mark. I am posting a photo that you can compare with yours.

My LDS coin does not have the die break at right wing tip or the break at IN shown in following pic.
There is also a crack from the C in AMERICA to the rim.

Fogie I do not think your coin is a VAM 1i either.

@Inspector7127 I am still going with my opinion does not count , Perhaps you should sent it to one of the two people who will tell you what it is. I find this little exchange fascinating . And I am still fan of your Morgan even if I am unsure of what VAM it is .

tmanhg:

Thanks for your photos and suggestions. Your photo of the right star is much like mine. Is it aribtrated to a VAM? I was thinking of starting the process of sending it in to VSS, unless you have all ready done this with yours. I find this fascinating and frustrating at the same time. The history of this coin goes back to my wife's Grandfather. He put this away some 60+ years ago. It sat in a box for all that time until my wife and I got together some 20 years ago. No thought of it being a verity. I still have several more of his Morgans to look through closely. So far the ones that I have looked at closely and done a lot of research have yielded some interesting VAMs. Now that I am retired the research and looking at them and my close to 525 Morgans keeps me busy!

Thanks agin.

Uncle Bingo:

Thank you for you suggestions. I am thinking of sending this off to VSS to have it attributed as per the instruction on the Morgan Discovery Procedure page. The coin that tmanhg has shows basically the same die break in the star as mine. I find this fascinating and frustrating. If his is arbitrated all ready, this may be a waist of time.
I sure didn't know how involved this hobby could get and how deep it goes.

Again, much thanks.

But what of the obverse ??? , Date doesn't match , Might need a pic of his wing gap to say for sure about the reverse ?but that crack could be the start of it for sure,,, Its like it moves around , first below the denticle then above , then big relief break right in the middle /how can it move around like that ??? I see it move on the way to scare face on anther series and it messes with feeble little mind

Die cracks don't move around. You need to send it to one of the Johns.(messydesk or vampicker).
Don't forget Fogie has one also.

I'm pretty sure I have found your listing. Compare your coin to the photos I am attaching and let me know.
If it matches then it is a VAM 25 which someone took out of the regular list.
I really wish everyone who does this would identify themselves on the page.
This is Leroy's discovery and I believe him to be correct with this listing.

AMEN
Thank the almighty for a voice of reason.
This is a classic example of dies vs varieties, IMHO
Tiny and a few others know my thoughts on cracks that are similar yet different…
They can polish 4mm off the top, but the weakness will remain at depth

Ain’t that right hole digger?

iwillbenice,

Thanks for your reference of the VAM-10C. I have looked closely and compared my 90S to the photos. Again some of the die breaks and cracks match but than again a lot don't.
10C Die marker - polish lines in RT of LIBERTY - mine dose not
10C Die Marker - Die polish lines in the wing/neck gap - mine does not
10C Die breaks from right wreath onto the wing at two leaves - mine has a die break from the center leaf just to the wing and not into it
10C calls it a far date to almost to the 3rd denticle - mine is normal left.

here are phots of my 90S. This has really started a stir.
