New purchase Morgan medal
This just showed up today, adding to my collection of medals by Morgan. This was first struck in 1872 and was an award from the School of Military Engineering. This example of BHM 2940 was awarded in 1900 according to its edge inscription.

I remember you showing one of Morgan's metals at the Baltimore Show a few years back,
Nate was there also.
So how many do you have now?

I don't have an exact count off the top of my head but it's something like 20 different examples, and maybe more

It's not as bad in hand and I've got some practice with conservation on copper and bronze

Silver as well...

Re: New purchase Morgan medal
George Morgan did a lot of nice medal work until he got to the Philadelphia Mint. Then things gradually went downhill.

His assay commission medals are quite nice, as are the presidential portrait medals he did. I imagine he was also under pressure to adopt the Art Nouveau style which perhaps wasn't playing to his strengths.
