8TF grading set fully imaged with Trueviews

Post by mark » Tue Jun 13, 2023 6:22 pm

Finally have the whole set fully imaged so thought I would share. PCGS seems to be having an issue with digital album photos showing up so added three links, one for the digital album, one for the image gallery and the public showcase link.

Currently just whole grades, no plus +, but might add some day.

Hope you enjoy the gallery!

Nice set Mark!
Which was the last grade coin you acquired?
By the way, the + grade circ. coins are VERY difficult to locate, except the 58+ which just tends to be expensive as all get-out because they always seem to be expensive dates.
When in doubt... don't.

Technically it was a VF20 for this set. I had one and accidentally sold it before I decided to make this set official. One of the hardest to find was the MS60. FR02 is also almost impossible and got lucky PCGS even graded mine since it's pretty badly scratched on both sides. I was lucky to the the PO01 in my lowball set years ago so that's really how it all started.

I love it. Great set. The hallmark of a true collector.

One has to submit multiple coins to PCGS aiming for a particular grade like VG10 or something to understand.

Truly Excellent.

The mind bends at the work to create this, as well as all of the stories made and bought by those super circulated dollars.

How many years did it take to create the set, as a guess?
When it's no longer fun, I think I'm done!

Awesome work on that 8tf set. It takes a lot of time, effort, money and frustration to make that set happen. Congrats on your accomplishment.

I would guess 5 years? I've had the set completed for about 1.5 years and picked up the PO01 in 2016 which really started the process. I probably could have moved faster but my main focus has been on completing the entire 1878p series.
