1897 unk mm The Silver Dollar Man encased. Anyone recognize these polish lines?
I won this encased (in plastic or bakelite) Morgan at my local auction and have been researching it. Since it says protected by patent and registration I have been searching the patent office for "The silver dollar man" program. I came up with a Margaret Perrott linked to the Dr Pepper Company but not sure. I also came up with a Robert Perrott in a census who's business was bottling plants. Anyway, I was hoping someone may recognize these polish lines on the obverse because, well you all know, I would like to get in the ballpark of the vam! lol I know I need both sides but maybe I can get an idea.
I have looked through P,S and O a few times now and came up short without having access to the reverse. I did find another one on NGC I will post the link. Thanks in advance for any info or help!

Did you look close at VAM 3?
Re: 1897 unk mm The Silver Dollar Man encased. Anyone recognize these polish lines?
Thanks! @blaircountycoin I could not get any of the file/polish lines or doubling to match from 97-P or S V-3's, I also looked at 97-s 16. The 97-O v-3 file/polish lines on Liberty are similar in a few places but the date placement is wrong. They shoulda put a small door to open to see the reverse! haha I was hoping the I in Liberty would stand out to someone it seems very distinct with those vertical file marks.

What a great puzzle to solve. I'm on vacation now so not a lot of spare time to help but I will when I can.
One big PITA though: even if you can nail down a possible reverese you can't truly VAM it without nailing down the reverse, too...
Who knows, you could own the ONLY surviving 1897-CC coin...

Thanks! @keilg1 yes very true as to the obverse and reverse needed, but there are so few from each MM that if I could nail the obverse I would be happy and would stop trying to figure out a way of peeking at reverse! (without destroying the novelty of it.)
Then I can resume trying to figure who Mr Perrott was. Why? I really dont know other than the puzzle and not knowing is all I can reference. And I do love the history/story of things.

Not a match number 2 .... This bothers me because I have seen that lips/ nose combo before , maybe its a flaw in something besides a working die and it just shows up?????? Guess I would have to ask the keepers of knowledge instead of just guessing

Someone else's turn I am running out of 97's that have any kind PUP's not covered in gunk . Maybe make a list of all exact date placements through out the 3 mints ... then start comparing notes against the short list .... guy was probably Ross Perot grand father, But the family had to change the spelling of their last name after encapsulating coins in carbonite

My Beautiful Wife has amazing sleuthing skills.
Your 1897 "Silver Token" evidently has to do with an old internet system known as "Radio" that was fueled by Double Cola!

Thankyou!! Thats awesome!!@SilverToken and Mrs SilverToken! She is definitely a sleuth!! That is interesting and definitely helps!! I really appreciate it!! I had searched the "Silver Dollar Man" copyright and came up with Margaret Perrott tied to Dr Pepper with several copyrights such as "Be a pepper" etc. But then stumped- I am not sure how to see what they actually are or how she is tied to Mr. Perrott.

And just found this from 1952. So theres the Dr Pepper Link! So it looks like people sent in thier ideas for slogans for Dr Pepper, and the different winners were announced over different radio programs and they recieved silver dollars. Maybe that explains the copyrights on the different Dr Pepper slogans linked to Mrs Margaret Perrott! Maybe they came from this Silver Dollar Man program.

And just how many did the Perrott's Buy? 1$ in 1954 = $11.54 today... and these awards were morphed into 1985 100 Year that can always be found on the bay!
