A large group of branch mint correspondence has recently been added to the NNP archive. This includes:
Entry-11 ---
Box 2 Carson
Box 3 Carson
Box 4 Carson
Box 5 Carson-Charlotte
Box 6 1838-1839 Charlotte
Box 7 1840-1842 Charlotte
Box 8 1843-1846 Charlotte
Box 9 1847-1853 Charlotte
Box 10 1854-1859 Charlotte
Box 11 1860-1879 Charlotte
Box 12 1880-1885 Charlotte
Box 13 1886-1896 Charlotte
Box 14 1835-1839 Dahlonega
Box 15 1840-1843 Dahlonega
Box 16 1843-1846 Dahlonega
Date ranges are approximate and letters are not in strict chronological order. For example, in Box 2 the Carson Mint material starts in about 1867, however there are groups of letters from 1862.
All the boxes are freely available to view or download. These are images of presscopy files and vary considerably in quality. Also, the images are deliberately low contrast to preserve maximum detail such as from pencil addenda. Users can enhance the images in Photoshop or other image manipulation software.

Re: U.S. Branch Mint correspondence added to NNP
Thanks for posting this. This link goes directly to RG 104 Entry 11. The years that can be clicked represent the earliest year of correspondence for a given range (e.g., click on 1838 to find Box 6, 1860 for Box 11, &c.) I'll also add a link to Entry 11 on the NNP Resources page on the wiki.

Re: U.S. Branch Mint correspondence added to NNP
No idea what lurks in the Carson Mint boxes, but I've seen die lists in scanning through things very quickly.
(I presume the Chinese folks will star making Dahlonega Morgan dollars soon....)
Don't know why NNP doesn't simply post by box number, mint and date range; that's the way they are filed at NARA and the easiest way to know what you're getting.
