1935 Peace VAMs 1E and 1J

Post by Cestor01 » Sun May 14, 2023 2:04 am

Is it possible that VAMs 1E and 1J of the 1935 Peace are different die states of the same VAM? I have what I believe is a VAM 1E, but it also has a small vertical die gouge below V of TRVST. There isn't much about the VAM 1J, but even looking at the photos on the VAMWorld site, it looks like there may be a vertical gouge below the V of TRVST on the VAM 1E, but possibly a later die state.

Impossible to tell without the discovery coins. The gouge below TRVST is the result of a feed finger scrape that could show up on several dies. No additional pictures of either discovery coin is currently available.
