1886-P Doubled Date-Pegleg on 2nd 8, clash Help please
Been trough the listing several times. Can’t find exact doubled date or die break that puts pegleg on the bottom of the second 8. Clash on reverse goes to at least midpoint of right side of the n, so obverse letters may be there but metal flow along neck is convoluted. Reverse die cracks on VAM-19 are evil mimics that show differences upon close comparison plus the date and clash position are different. Die cracks at date of VAM-17 similar but not exact, the digits are not doubled and its arrow feathers are doubled at the bottom while the one in this posting is doubled at the top. Other close ones are VAM-3A /3B, but the clash sequence is off as is the date position. All help appreciated.
More posts follow.
Normal date position LH3;RE4 Die cracks under date, and from denticle to bust to 1
1 doubled top left and under top crossbar, left vertical shaft, lightly under bottom crossbar and surface doubling top right vertical shaft.
First 8 Doubled lower outsides both loops, tripled left & right inside both loops.
Second 8 Doubled lower outsides both loops, tripled left and right inside both loops. Die cracks rim to bottom left and right of lower loop with pegleg projections.
6 Doubling from mid left outside left around to 3 o’clock lower loop. Tripling left inside both loops. More posts follow.

@ljs123
Hair Vee
Ear and hair D don’t have much going on.
Rev: Clash right wing up to right side of n near middle. Also between left wing and top wreath cluster but too hard to get a good pic.
Designer’s initial broken right side
Line in front of eye, looks like tarnish at first but die crack can be seen starting at top
Clash at neck – metal flow here makes it nearly impossible to see if there is letter transfer, line there looks too fat. Lee could you look please. I don’t see letter transfer but you’ve seen more of these than I haEar and hair D don’t have much going on.

I forget which one that looks like, maybe VAM-25.

@alefzero Thanks for looking. VAM-25 has mark at top inside of 6 that is different, and die scratches in the ear. The reverse clash is about the same spot but not as strong.

Those are cracks not breaks
Secondary markers should not be considered unless listed in the description
I see MDD obv and rev
I do see slight sibling inner loop top 6
Multiple dies may exist…
