Just reviewed the various TPG fees and WOW
ICG & Segs are a joke IMHO- Segs $15 & $22 for crossover
How can they stay in business with high fees for a inferior TPG
Who in right mind would put decent coins in slabs that dont bring decent money, and pay
top money to do so. ABSURED. ICG is certainly not cheap either, so this all makes PCGS,NGC,
ANACS at least vindicated on grading fees.
Probally scary what CAC is going to charge!!

Re: Grading FEES
Well, SEGS will slab the privately made Morgans. That's about all
I would personally use them for.

Re: Grading FEES
It currently takes PCGS about 4 months plus a few days to return a regular submission with attribution. It takes ICG about a month with attribution included. I've given ICG a small bit of business in the last couple of years when 3rd party authentication is desired before trading or selling examples I'm not inclined to add to my collection.
They wouldn't be my go to for any conditional rarity but they have their place in the hobby.

Re: Grading FEES
I don't find ICG inferior. Their holders are scuff magnets, but their grading is not that bad. The propaganda of one or two grading services to grab marketshare has moved a lot of conservatively graded ANACS and ICG coins, via crossover, to PCGS and NGC, also for their registry participation and CAC consideration. It then gives the impression that they grade poorly based on the remnant of older certifications in the marketplace. Can say the same thing about PCGS OGHs (many having long since sent in for regrades if they would likely upgrade).
For the market, it is still preferred to have coins in PCGS holders. That is simply a market reality. But I send most of my submissions anymore to ANACS and use ICG for potty dollars and counterfeit listed VAMs, as they do them both. PCGS, for me, is only worthwhile for modern value and show submissions. They are generally both back in hand within a reasonable time. The other stuff just cannot be out of inventory for months on end. The real wrench in it all is the change in CAC submissions. Otherwise, it might be preferred to send previously holdered (PCGS/NGC) coins to them for stickers rather than to the top two players for regrades and crossovers.
