extreme LDS 1921-D VAM 3B

Post by DHalladay » Tue Apr 04, 2023 3:00 pm

I'm super excited to finally have been able to acquire a late die state VAM 3B "Streamer WIng" – and practically giddy that it is an extremely late die state example.

VAM 3B http://ec2-13-58-222-16.us-east-2.compu ... 1-D_VAM-3B typically has a clearly divided 2-section raised die break attached to the eagle's right wing tip on 3B, with a smaller wedge-shaped break that blends into the denticles. But on this coin the 2-section break has become a single big blob, with no indication that it was ever anything but. The crack then continues deep into the denticles, where there is a raised oval-shaped break above the first S in STATES.

Die cracks also abound, including some that aren't shown on the VAM 3B crack map. The scribbles, surprisingly, are still well defined.

nice.

the pvc isn't what i'd call major but it is there and it is active. i'd rather say something than not on a beast of a vlds like that. :)

hopefully it isn't an older collectable holder.
