1896 VAM 36
I was asked about this piece earlier today. I had the discovery piece come across my desk a couple of years ago and this is one that has fallen thru the cracks. I don't have the write up handy, but here are some images. The odd gouge on the M of AMERICA is its most noteworthy feature

HmmmM...
Appears to be physical as well as chemical. Something man made and a heck of an impact.
