1898 Vam 7

So I see the Vam 7 was discontinued, but I see nothing about why. I have a coin that matches its description, what happens to it?

Looking at the letter that explains why it was eliminated, it was determined based on examination of multiple coins that the doubling was machine doubling and not something that was on the die. If you have an 1898 with doubling on the date, show a picture here and we can try to determine if yours is machine doubling or legitimate die doubling.
