I've been noticing that few generation 4, 5 and 6 NGC fatty holders have undamaged reverse stickers, most have either multiple scratches or the entire reverse sticker missing. There's probably a simple answer for this (Like other holders rubbing against the back of the holders in question). it's just been on my mind for a while and any help is appreciated.
Here's the site I use for figuring out which generation holder I have.

I've scrubbed several of them off with goo gone or MS 70 trying to remove the remnants of old price stickers. At least I hope that nasty stuff was the remnants of old stickers.

it's unfortunate that that happened, and it was more than likely the remnants of a sticker.

Could it be because the stickers are just too brittle?

Those NGC reverse stickers simply did not hold up well under various conditions including
time/elements/washing/cleaning slab etc
Also notice PCGS slabs plastic seems subject to scratches, many quite distracting over time

Mr. morgenman I would have to agree with you on that and it's not surprising that they would not hold up well, since that was when they were switching from the engraved reverse holder to the sticker on the holder.
