Crooks, committing these type of crimes are likely to continue, as cons
see these crimes as easy and not in limelight of authorities.
Surprised inept NGC was onto this one, as their idiots otherwise IMHO

“In keeping with its unparalleled commitment to accuracy and integrity in coin grading…”. Lol. That’s a bit of a stretch.

Mr. Albright deserves jail time.
When in doubt... don't.

Too bad when people do this kind of thing . Just the world we live in , I guess . Its hard enough to collect whatever your future set will look like , even without all the cheating that is bound to exist . It's nothing new I guess , but unfortunate for the victims in this latest ruse.

NGC is pursuing a civil action against Mr. Albright which is the proper thing for them to do when fraudulent activity affects their business.

However, Fraud is also a criminal activity. When someone uses the internet and the US mail to conduct fraud, as is always the case in eBay transactions, it is also a Federal offense called wire fraud and mail fraud.

Depending on the adequacy of federal prosecutors, I don't think Mr. Albright has heard the last of several judges decisions for the foreseeable future.

I'd think NGC would take this opportunity to make their holder more tamper resistant. It's not really a secret that several generations of their holder can be cracked open with almost no visible damage. And yes, it is sometimes part of my job to crack a piece out of it's holder when it crosses my desk.

Tamper resistance is easily worked around by buying NGC shells from China, unfortunately.

That's how I thought that scam had to work, They were using an old NGC insert and label to encapsulate a lesser coin and sealing a new shell around it.

I guess it's possible to separate the sonic seal of the NGC shell and leave it in a state where it could go back together. But I always end up completely wrecking them when I crack one out.
