"22 P, is she worthy?
Peace 1922 P. Obverse die crack pattern not seen in VAM. Circulated, die polishing on the obverse and reverse. Is she worthy to be VAMized?

Also, reverse rim cud at 8 o'clock.

The crack through the N is key, to this one IMO. Passed by the show on the way to SA.

I don't see any displacement across the die cracks.
The file lines might justify the coin being listed, especially as it has a B1 reverse. I believe that I have this coin, I want to see it in hand before doing anything with it.

As a darkside outsider I'm curious if others more experienced could explain the acceptable level of what would constitute a rim cud?
Could be more obvious with the coin in hand and/or other (better) pictures, but I've now seen a few coins that are either listed or not that have (no offense) rather minor blobs of rim metal that have not been a listable quality on Morgan dollars.
Granted, on person's cud is another person's... well... crud?

Perhaps this is a rusty obverse at IGWT. Believe that is another crack 90-degress off the long one through "N" in IN. Here's closeup of "B" in LIBERTY. And that's the best photo of the rim "crud."

Shortnock asks: Is she VAMworthy? AND if so, where does she go? To David, to John or John?

This coin appears to be scarce, I have looked at over 100 of my 1922 B1's & found only one. If I can get adequate photos, I will likely list it.
Re: "22 P, is she worthy?
Dr. Close! Great thanks for your effort in behalf of this candidate, being my first discovery VAM. Christian Merlo has the specimen and has provided additional photos. Please advise where to send the coin for your further consideration.

Re: "22 P, is she worthy?
After seeing the coin in hand (mine is a little later die state & slightly lower grade), I have decided to list this as VAM 1AJ - Polished pitted obverse die, die scratches at and below leaves. Credit for this one goes to shortnock, good job!
I will start another thread & post more photos there.

Dr. Close, Thanks for your pursuit in behalf of this VAM discovery. Now wearing a smile like a wave across a milk pail. Should this specimen be shipped to you?

I have one, I don't need to see yours unless there is something unusual or different from photos already posted.
As I had said above, I have over 100 1922 Peace dollars w/ B1 reverse, & only found one of these.
