1882-P VAM 4, for the page

Post by Albannach » Sun Feb 05, 2023 6:41 pm

Here is the elusive VAM 4, as originally plated. The photos there are no VAM 4...

Curious, what do you mean 'as originally plated'?

Are these pictures from LVA from the coin Bill Fivaz submitted in 1974?

And has this been signed of by JB or JR? That'd rock if this has been found and clarified!

If it's not the first edition, it's the second...

Will someone please take a picture and post the plate shot of the V4.

or

Maybe whoever has Leroy's files could simply scan the original.

That would be great, thanks.

This post is getting more confusing to me, sorry.

@UNCLE BINGO, what pictures have you posted? Are these any verified 1B or 4 coins?

And @Albannach, sorry I'm still confused - did you take these pictures of a coin you've had JB or JR look at and verify it is a VAM-4, or are they pictures scanned from either the 1st or 2nd edition book? I have a 4th edition that doesn't show the cool detail the up-close picture of the 2 digit you show - so if this is the VAM-4 (verified) we can easily put the picture on the web page. But I'd not want to do that until hearing from JR or JB.

Happy to help out but not wanting to make things more confusing...

Brilliant, @andywoj00! Explains a lot. If these are from supplements, they can easily be added.

I'm assuming, @UNCLE BINGO, yours are not in the same category?

@keigel1 now I'm not sure ... V1B and v4 are supposed to be the same according to the VW pages . The previous picture on the v4 page was a v 22 obverse and no other pups

I'm noy certain about how it is named, I do know I saw it once in person (I don'y have the supplement), but I thought it had polishing in the 2...

This helps me a great deal.
Thank you Andy!
