Coin Photo Viewer Windows 11

Post by iceman » Thu Jan 19, 2023 12:43 pm

Hi All
What is the best Windows 11 photo viewer for coins , I find the standard Windows 11 photo viewer gets the detials lost .
So I justed wanted to ask for some suggestions , to the best for Windows 11 . The Old Windows 10 photo viewer seemed
to enable better details , but of course I was forced to update to Windows 11 . LOL

Many Thanks to ALL

John

John, I had a similar problem a few weeks ago. Had to switch to windows 11 from windows 7. I have a Celestron digital microscope that used their software. Software doesn't work for windows 11. So, I downloaded their updated sw and it still didn't work. :? Anywho, someone told me about "Plugable" software. It works great! So many more options to enhance my photo's than the Celestron software for my Celestron digital scope. It's a free download as well and works for all my different digital cameras. I love it!. (just my opinion)
Try this:

Hope this helps :D

10 Best Photo Viewers for Windows 11 in 2023

I've only ever used IrfanView and was going to recommend it, but figured I'd go look for a list of viewers.

If you're referring to the default photo viewer app, it is still available, just hidden. I had to restore the old one too. That new one drives me bananas.

The new web/microscope camera viewer seems ok.

Good luck.

The programs described in the "10 Best" are image editing not merely viewing. The W-11 "Photo" program is a good viewer -- it lets you view photos, magnify, rotate, crop, delete and Save AS -- which is about all a viewer needs to do. I use it a lot to quickly scroll through the several thousand image I produce each research day. (I never use it to edit original images.)

Once you enable an editing program, you have to be aware of the "under the hood" factors relating to broad manipulation of digital images. As a few questions: does the software alter the native image resolution, tonal and color distribution, can it handle 12-bit or 36 bit images, what are the file type conversion factors, what kinds of image compression are default and available, and a large number of other important factors controlling image quality. How much control do you have over the final image?

A suggestion is to download eval. copies of several, then test them using one original photo. Be very critical. You do not want any editing program to alter image quality except as you want it done.

I exclusively use Irfanview, and it has served me well for over 10 years. My choice was not based on a technical comparison of photo processors, but the ease of use and easy learning.

I need to ask , are these viewers plug and play with different hardware , or are they similar to ripping raw files shot from a DSLR camera ?I may not have asked that question the right way , its been a while .Ii see the BMP files save from my scope but not really sure what those are  I love my scope but hate the software , and the 2 pages of instructions written on a 3"x3" card require a much younger set of eyes
Proud winner of Worst new Vammer of the year

All this Gobblygook is why i have no idea how to do pictures and to frustrating for me
to even start learning. Unfortunately im a closed book, and it really sucks as good pics
would allow me to sell tons of my great morgans myself. Did do Fleabay but results poor
due to terrible pics.

Guess i best stay to trading commodities, where the money is for me, and leave coins
and pictures to those who still care. I find myself struggling with being interested as i get older,
So many yrs collecting/buying/selling that it got Non Challenging mostly.

Carry on the great work of developing great pictures and sharing Pic info with members here!!

if you have a decent camera phone, generation 6 or newer, you should be able to take more than acceptable pics w/o doing any editing besides cropping them down in size.

i use a really old iphone and it does fantastic!!! look up pricing for an iphone 6 or 7 - the i , s or whatever version really shouldn't matter. i've taken around 12-13k pics with this phone and we're still going strong baby!!!!!
