1922 D Vam 1K Late Die State?? New number?

Post by bob259 » Sun Jan 08, 2023 11:46 pm

I identified this 1922D as a 1K by the cud on the reverse. The obverse has other cracks so is it just a Vam 1K LDS or should it have its own vam number?

Nice, fellow Oregonian Bob: Good to see you even know how to post pic's, as i have no
clue and no desire to learn at this late juncture. LOL

Hope this finds you well & happy- Congrads on closing escrow as many are becomming
less lucky in this regard.

I am spending my time mostly analysing commodity mkts as 2022 proved very good for
me with little effort. Seems like 2023 will be a very volatile mkt yr which lends to easy
trades for guys like me, within commodity mkts. Crazy events and politics, especially in
OIL MKTS

That's a really cool VAM Bob!
Like the Cud on it.

BTW, your posted pics look great.

As GEICO has vehemently advertised, "so easy, even a caveman can do it".

Well done on both.

Check VAM 2Y or VAM 2AE

Not 2Y Obverse die crack too close to 1 and doesn't continue up and around the coin. It termininates into the rim. Also, die crack by T of trust goes through the T on mine not over the top of it. And no crud.

Not 2AE Die crack through Y too high and die crack over 1 goes higher before hitting the rim. No die crack through L and reverse doesn't have a die crack through E Plu And no die chip or cud.

Thanks for the suggestions!

I must be missing something.
I don’t understand how it can be a 1K without the 1K listed cud.
Please educate me.

Could it be a 2AF?

The cracks look a lot like the 2AF, but I’m not sure this coin actually has the break under the G in God to be a 2AF.
Maybe EDS 2AF?

VAM 2AF it is. It has the break under the G in God and the cracks match. Thank you very much! I should have looked more carefully at the reverse and then would have known it couldn't be a 1K. Just haven't identified one for awhile but I have a new pile to get to work on so on with the hunt Again, Thanks for the help!.

Sure a great thing to see fellow vammers help on attribution questions/issues.
Attrib that drive members crazy are known and easier for many here.
Sharing experience here is what VW2 is all about.
