Wished every Morgan I owned could be bought in a similar look/grade ....... and Affordably
Coin is hard to take pictures of but I'm working on it . My shepherd pup broke my DSLR a while back. I took a picture of him and he was so cute it busted the camera
I need to send it in to Cannon and get it fixed .
Looked at this a couple weekends back . I figured it was a Polishing lines VAM
Not many PUP's kind of things to look at , it's really pretty in hand though

So I'm guessing medium S/S low with a slight tilt left, but it might just be upright . I need to get a picture of the eye again PMD confusion going on here

V-12.2 page states "Reverse C3a –(medium) IV S mint mark at normal height with partially filled loops." but the lines show it being set low from your picture. Not tilted.

Ya , I think that is part of the struggle I was having . I had thought at first it was a S/S (cant remember the vam number today] reverses because the mint mark looks just like that VAM to me . and it is not the same as the die plate photos based on the wing gap polishing lines . I can see the scratch going across the tail feathers parallels the arrow shaft but it is faint . some brave soul will attempt a die study but man there a lot of numbers for that year and MM .

This one would get like a 4 1/2 maybe a 5 but I am not a coin grader , Don't think I own a 67 yet , but I kind of started late . still holding to the obverse being a 12, but that reverse , Who knows ? Still think I have the tail feathers scratch for Die 2 but this coin looks older in the imaginary Die progression , Cause Frankly
@fogie I get why none would take your bribe , It is a hot mess with so many coins and die stages and reverses and re punched mint marks, and duplicates possibly

Sorry, didn't mean to veto V12.2 as I should have added that the page description is too vague and technically wrong. I cropped the FCP from the page and the S is also set low like yours, but the top serif looks a little different. But might just be my eyes. Does your coin have other matching attributes?

The whole thing is just weird to me buddy , I'm just not sure , you didn't veto anything . descriptions vs die pairs is what WE ARE UP AGAINST . there are so many variables on that year . i guess that's why they are common

I tabled this for a minute . I chose to post this particular coin on here , not because its really worth any " premium " but simply because it was hard to attribute ( for me anyway ) with so many specimens for the commons I can easily see how it could have fallen into about a half a dozen numbers from the listing pages. I did not want to just ask somebody what it was . I am trying to learn "the how of Vamming " It probably would have been better if it was not also my first attempt with something other than a 10 X loupe . I will get the hang of the scope and maybe with a little luck, even posting pristine large full coin pictures . BTW some of you post some way nice pictures!!!! , I have found taking nice pictures of coins , both in and out of plastic is not the easiest thing there is to do .
I agree with you about the "S" I need to find a number that has a wore down , spikeless *8 die stage, obverse possibly shared with V12, with a low mint mark that resembles a pregnant cobra
Thanks for putting up with me . My wife tells me all the time how hard that really is
