I wanna say i think every oval O is a top 100 in that year , you got to find the right one . PUP's needed...... http://ec2-13-58-222-16.us-east-2.compu ... 888-O_VAMs the VAM 2 plate Photo looks {to me} a little higher than yours . or maybe not you might have it

I would compare the diagnosis tips with Vam 17 and 21 . Its hard to guess without coin in hand or pictures of the date placement, and any specific die markers . I am just guessing without more , but like I said you will figure it out , compared to other dates the list gets narrowed down using the VAMworld pages

Got the coin back from PCGS. They did not give a VAM but after a brief back and forth, PCGS wants the coin back for further review. Clearly this is an Oval “O”, just not sure which variety. I’ll let you know when I hear back from PCGS. Until then, here are a couple pics.

@Beanpole2@22 Do you have a picture of the obverse ? I'm sure one the experts might be able to tell by just the back , but In looking through the Oval O list I would not dare guess

I wanted to guess that , I could barley make out the two scratches on his pictures but they are there . Thanks JR I am more worried that PCGS did not see them though .. that is pretty sloppy of the self proclaimed number 1 service ...

That is really something if I , the worst Vammer in history and JR , probably one of the best to ever live can figure out VAM 17 from a blurry picture of the reverse , Why can't PCGS get it right the first time while having the coin in their possession the first time ????This just keeps getting better and better ... I am beginning to wonder if they even look at the reverse of coins anymore. I know for a fact I bought a PR 70 ASE in a First strike last summer that is beautiful on the obverse but it has 6 or 7 hits on the reverse ... pretty sure no one even looked at the back of it ..... and that is not fair to the millions that spend money for their so called professional services.......

@Beanpole2@22 If you come back and tell us you didn't request them to attribute it the first time , and didn't pay for it I will feel silly ,,, but it is so hard when I feel that this huge company that should be the very best , cause they keep advertising that they are , are doing nothing more than what equates to me as ripping many good people off , just because they can ..... maybe folks should start finding a better grading company just for principle... or at the very least demand better from them.

I requested and paid. That’s why I raised a stink. Here is the obverse I’ll let ha know how it goes, but it’s a little disconcerting it was missed.

I’ll be watching. I’ve got another 4 1960’s quarters with Denver RPM’s presently being graded (requested Variety) so let’s see what happens.

Hey that PDF from Ash Harrison…is this part of a larger book? Trying to look for VAMs using the web browser tab drives me bananas. This format is far easier to digest.

Thanks again and thanks Vampicker. I’ll letcha k ow how it goes with PCGS.
