I am trying to figure out this vam but am having no luck. I was wondering if any of these pics stood out to anyone that could help steer me towards a vam? Thanks in advance!

Wicked cool polish lines in many places. Nice gouge at the beak, too.

Looks like a tilted left MM? Or regular slightly shifted left?

Can you see any hub doubling (see http://www.vamworld.com/forum/viewtopic ... 254#p58254 for a bit of my own questioning on this lovely date and mint)? This might help rule in or out many of the potential options.

Thanks keilg1, I love the speared beak! The lines in the hair almost look re-engraved. As far as hub doubling the lower wreath mostly left side is doubled mostly on outer half. It has alot of cool scribbles even on forehead. The wings seem to be mostly clear except a few lines closer to the body on the Eagles right wing. Lightly clashed obverse and reverse in common places. I will take more pics when I get home, I believe a couple stars are also doubled and hardly any scribbles in between neck wing.

For the hub doubling, be sure to look closely at UNITED as these are the key letters - can't miss them when they're there.

Again, great pictures showing a lot of action on the coin.

I'm not seeing the classical hub doubling seen on 30-36 and 39, so those can be ruled out but I'm definitely not the expert.

I still love the gouge at the beak - it looks familiar to another coin I've seen (and likely described somewhere on this site) but I can't remember it. I'm sure one of the more experienced members with a better memory will chime in!

Thanks keilg1! I have a 1883CC GSA 5a that has a speared beak but that is all I have ran across that is similar. I am sure there are several I just have not seen. Thanks again for looking!

Check out 1879-P VAM-7B, 1921-S VAM-13B for similarities. 1890-O VAM-33 and 1891-P VAM-6/6A not quite as close....
