Post by keydates » Sat Oct 22, 2022 2:08 am

Has anybody seem a vam 4 without the die chip next to denticles above the raised dot between PLURIBUS and UNUM?
Good question for JR and JB,
Or someone that studies the 8 tf.
Thanks larry

Larry
If it doesn’t have the die chip
Most likely is a vam 3

In the picture on VW it seems like I can still see the chip. Just appears worn. :?

I saw the vam 4 in ms 69- after i tried some CBD oil for insomnia i think LOL
On a kinda funny note, Im taking homemade MJ oil to make no sense of to many vams
and furthermore all the various die stages. Some folks sure smoking good stuff when they
decided to catalogue all these sub varieties/die states IMHO LOL

Carry on gentlemen

Online pictures can be deceiving,
Especially those from eBay sellers!

The coin pictured on the VAM 4B page was viewed by me, John R, John C, Fogie, Brian Raines, and Larry Briggs in hand at the ANA show. There is no chip on that coin and there never was. The coin was VF.

Any thoughts on EDS vs LDS?

One more to add to the list of impossible 1878s.

EDS. Die chips don't suddenly disappear. No texture that one would see with a filled die, either.
