one cannot have enough skills in their arsenal to weed out 58s when looking for uncs and stuff like this can help us manage our expectations when submitting. i'm sure a few will slide through but en-masse, the guy that has submitted oodles has shared a pearl and i am quite grateful.

When you put it like that , it makes me not want that particular dish on the menu for some strange reason .
I got a look at the prices for some of those special prepared meals , and I get why the cooks would try to serve it , but if ya want steak and pay for steak ,,,, you should be able to expect steak ????????
someone call the health department !!!!!!!!!!!

Guess Ill have to wait for the you tube video to come out , so I can here the waiter explain the special to me once again cause I just don't get it .....

You know I'm not really trying to start a big ole war about TPG methods . Just trying very hard to understand the grading game , and I'll be honest I just don't get it .. I am the most inexperienced guy here ... you all have forgotten more about VAMS and Morgan Dollars than I will have the opportunity to learn . I will not include ANACS in what I am about to say , Because I think the worlds oldest grading company deserves respect from my silly novice self .They have stuck by their guns even at the expense of Market share, whatever that means, the only real mistake I could see was about holders and what the people wanted , maybe I should not say it was a mistake but it really seemed to hurt them ... The other two of the top three have so far from what I can tell, NOT EARNED MY RESPECT . I see something more along the lines of deception from both of them with this Market grade thing . If it gets to a point you cant trust the numbers, what good is the whole thing ? #1 and #2 seemed to evolve about the time of the Silver eagle program and for a long time things seemed from my perspective to be legit . Still questioning the 69 vs 70 thing in 1999 but whatever . I understand what the market has to say about PCGS . if you want top dollar put it in their holder for the most part ... I watched a little thing sponsored by the ANA about this market grading thing . and i got tell you @RogerB until someone can convince me otherwise i am defiantly leaning towards your perspective about it . If you explain the rules about most things generally I can at some point figure it out despite how stupid my wife might tell my dog I am . But how can one learn the magicians tricks if he keeps changing the tricks?

That is, indeed the central question. It is the one that TPGs promised they would eliminate by reliability and consistency -- "sight unseen grading" was their mantra.

The increasing velocity of instability, deception and toe-cracking deceit, threatens to overwhelm and destroy the few remaining vestiges of honesty and ethics. (It's much like that Congressman who lied about almost everything to get elected, then claims he did nothing "unethical!")

Man if it turns out to be just some flaw in humans , like humans have always had ,,,,,Greed ,,,,,,it is not going to surprise me at all. History is plagued with such tales .... I want to believe and pretend like every thing is OK even if it looks like it is not . if the directive to play some smoke and mirrors thing came from some CEO in a long forgotten board room meeting , I'm sorry that pisses me off

Lack of luster[ Probably spelling that wrong } but this one does better than the last picture I put up in this thread for the test . Not much reflectivity i guess . and they can always claim it is just opinion and those do tend to be all over the place no matter how good the sales pitch at the end is ???? .....

and yes I still have to put a VAM number on that coin ,,, no matter how common it might be ,,, and it might not be Vamming , { no offense intended at all } but it is what i chose for my own EDUCATION

I guess in truth I may not ever be able to understand the grading game .... { I guess it could be that way by design }

And I can see the wear head on ,,, probably the reason for the 55 { Still just guessing over here } And my Eagles breast is almost as bald as my head

Got to give them credit for their photography skills , even back then someone could see the value in pictures/ grading .
I need a new cell phone . one with 3 or 4 lenses ....
