I've seen the exact same mark on at least one other Morgan 1978 reverse. Does anyone have any information regarding this? Has anyone seen this before?

Thanks.

Your Reverse doesn't look right. The first A in America for one and letter font looks off. Olive leaves too. Maybe I'm wrong, don't have coin in hand. Worth double checking.

Yes, I have in hand. 26.79 OZ. Same weight as all my other Morgan's.

I'm not convinced. Morgans weigh, according to wikipedia 26.73 grams. Your's is circulated, can't add weight to a coin... Your first A in America does not have the cut serif, it should unless it's first reverse. Just looks that way to me in pics.

I agree with post mint damage.

Look at the two different photos with a V mark on the arrowheads. The Vs are in different locations. These are two different coins posted by two different people with Vs in different locations. Both coins are over 100 years old and are not mint state. They picked up marks from age. I have age marks too.

Yes.... Agree with PMD. The "V" is in a different place. Thanks for the additional perspectives. Always helps.

On the detail photo, notice the raised metal next to the "V." This is from post-production impact, clearly showing that the mark is damage.
