Hi All
I need some help on this one . This is a 1879S rev 78 VAM 77 or a 77A . Just dont have enough info on the 77A or a example to verify . Well Please help me on this one . Just some areas that I cant verify for a 77A , Check out the engraved feather between the eagle's right leg and wing ( Kind of Notched ) , just doesnt agree with a 77 and of course I have No example for a 77A . Please help on this one , I do want to send it in if a New VAM on the 77 . HELP is needed . Need the experts to help on this one .

Looks like the extra engraved feathers are clear; thinking 77, but some of the ‘B’ reverse heavyweights need to chime in.

Yes it is a 77 but the 77A is the question , just have never seen a 77A or good photos of the 77A . But its attributed a 77 since PCGS doesnt reconize the 77A . But Yep just trying to get more info on the 77A , to see if this is a 77A or another new VAM . Just cant properly attribute this one . LOL . Yep the experts need to chime in on this one .

When you can look at it in hand, confirm the obverse is correct for 77/77A. This is the same for both stages. Then look at the reverse. The difference between VAM 77 and 77A is fairly obvious unless the features are worn away. In the grade pictured, this should be easy. On a VAM 77 the engraved upper tail feathers (just inside the leg on the viewer's left) will look exactly like a VAM 9. The sideways W pattern will also be visible inside the bow loop. On a VAM 77A, almost all that thick re-engraved feather inside the leg is polished away leaving a shallow vertical spike, And that W pattern is gone except for a few remnants at the top of the opening.

Many Thanks for the photo , Yep I had that one in Black and White . But still its a in between on the stages . Just strange and I need to send it in I guess to get the Say all Be ALL . Just really has had me perlexed for the past year on this one .
