Looking for help on this 1896 o that my lovely wife bought me!?

Post by Newbee1 » Sat Oct 15, 2022 10:04 pm

So I'm still really trying to figure out how to identify vams and I was using vamworlds guide but this one is tricky to me I'm looking for help if I can get it please.
The first thing I noticed is that there is a.big die chip in the top of 8 in 18 in the date.
The second thing is the mint mark looks tilted to the the right.

But as I serched vamworld there is no vams with the die chip in 8 any help greatly appreciated

It will be more difficult to attribute from lower grades like this Morgan. It would be best to narrow it down by date & mintmark placement. It looks to be a near date, which would narrow it down to about 10 VAMs. Check for any doubling on date.
I may not be the best, but I do not know anyone better.
