1887 O VAM 4 Question
I've identified this coin as a VAM 4 which talks about clashing but no letter transfer. I am not familiar with this particular clashing above the eagle wing and was wondering what the clashing is? I also added some additional photos of the coin.

Re: 1887 O VAM 4 Question
The fifth image down with the mark off the wing is a die gouge similar to that of the 1883-O VAM-1D.

Re: 1887 O VAM 4 Question
Look at the top edge of the eagle's right (viewer's left) wing and you'll see a vertical line that goes up to the left edge of the G in God, then hooks into the wing. That's the clash.

I saw that clash, it was the shorter kind of twisty one out of the same wing but closer to the beak that I was confused as what the clash could be. I appreciate the link and the feedback.
Re: 1887 O VAM 4 Question
Personally, I am a clasher & die break junkie !! Many Morgans that display strong clashing &
die breaks also are superior in quality thus
deserving of a closer look/analysis
Morgans that have multiple obverse clashes (counter clashing) are really cool and
desirable. Counter clash= Clash obv- Nose/chin/mouth/neck & Large hair vee &
some raised letter clashing in small hair vee as well on some.
