1880-S VAM 41 appears to be valid

Post by vampicker » Wed Sep 14, 2022 12:52 pm

I had a couple of pieces on my desk yesterday that looked like a good match for the obverse plate from the VAM book and the reverse plate from the update showing a close triple spread of the right wreath. I noticed this page is in the 'dubious' category. It likely landed there because 'dash' is in the title and shows on the one image currently on the page. That's actually not part of the current or former listing. The reverse on the coins I looked at also happens to be the same die as the reverse of VAM 106. Here's some pictures....

I moved it back out of the "dubious" section. Email me the pictures and I can take care of them tonight.
