OT A little older
OK so a lot older. I went to the Ohio State Coin Show in Dublin today and was looking for a couple of pieces I couldn't find and some stuff for a type set which I did find. But the thing about shows is you'll run across stuff you didn't know you wanted until you see it in hand. I ended up with this tetradrachm of Athens c.440-404 BC. Pushing two and a half millennia and it looks just about brand new.

Great looking 2500 year old coin JR! I may be wrong, but I believe that the owl is the symbol honoring Athena, who Athens is named after. The helmet detail is amazing.

It looks in better shape than the current owner.

Cool classic coin, and sometimes you just have to pull the trigger for that reason alone.

Fine photos of a superfine, probably seven tailfeather, specimen.
