Hi
Is this the start of a cud?
Or a collar issue!
The coin has a big scratch/
Probably hit by a stick??
About an inch above this area,
From the 3 to the hair area.
Probable not gradeable?
Junk or a keeper?
Thoughts please!

Re: 1923 peace dollar question
That double rim probably evolved from misaligned dies with a collar clash. A rim die break possibility is beginning. Check out 1922 D VAM 16 B reverse collar clash with long rim die break as a good reference.
