1922 Peace D over D?
Hello this is my first post. I was going through my Peace dollars last week and came across this. I didn't see a VAM attribution for 1922 D over D Peace, so thought it was worth while to get some opinions on it. Please see attached images.
Re: 1922 Peace D over D?
Looks like just a worn mint mark. I don't know of any convincing repunched mint marks for Peace dollars. There's a 27-S/S listed, but I haven't seen one and the pictures aren't clear.

Ok I will get some better images, but you don't see the shelf between the two stamps in the current images?
Re: 1922 Peace D over D?
If you're referring to the right side of the D, what I see looks like machine doubling from here.

That low shelf on right side of D is strike doubling/machine doubling which is very common on Peace $ devices. My advice on learning about true repunched mint marks (RPMs) is to study photos of listed RPMs. John Wexler has an excellent web site online with superb photos at Wexler's Coins and Die Varieties which lists three D/D Barber Dime Discovery Pieces submitted by me: 1911 D 10c D/D North WRPM 002
1912 D 10c D/D North WRPM 001
1914 D 10c D/D/D North and Tilted WRPM 001
